Assurance is a Lifeline provider that provides unlimited voice to the US, unlimited SMS, and 10GB of data. Lifeline is a service that would provide free phone service to low income households. Since I live below the poverty line, I am considered as low income, and therefore – qualify for the Lifeline service. This phone number is on a nanoSIM which was a little work waiting for the SIM card to be delivered, and activated. Assurance Wireless does not support eSIM.
The reason for this service is mostly for the data connection. There is an app on Android that is not on iOS. Because of this, I needed an active Android phone to use the app. I bought the Motorola Razr and activated the SIM on the Razr. This will allow me to use the app when I am not home, and the app has benefited me more than a few times. There is a condition, I must make at least one phone call a month to keep the service active. This is easy enough, and I am able to do this. I simply call myself since no one I know has this particular telephone number.
